This is a study in the full web design process starting with a simple sketch to demonstrate the overall layout of the design and ending with a multipage website created using HTML and CSS. It was created for a fictitious business (Artista & Barista Cafe). And, since I couldn’t help myself, I also threw logo creation into the mix.
The logo design revolved around the ampersand. The cafe name “Barista and Artista” roughly translates to “Bartender and Artist” in Italian. I wanted to find a font with an ampersand that looks like an “E” as a play on the Italian word for “and.” This particular character needed to have the right look for the play on words to be effective.
